Dr. Barbara Payne is an author, leader, and spiritual encourager dedicated to helping individuals heal, grow, and fulfill their God-given purpose. She is the founder of Opportunities To Overcome (OTO), a faith-based nonprofit organization focused on spiritual restoration, emotional resilience, and creative discipleship. Moved by a calling to uplift those facing emotional and spiritual challenges, Dr. Payne uses her writing, encouragement, and personal testimony to help others overcome adversity through faith, wisdom, and biblical truth. Her work emphasizes the transformative Power of God during seasons of wilderness, identity crises, burnout, and personal transitions. Dr. Payne is the author of several books, including: Restoring The Shepherd: A Theological and Psychological Approach to Clergy Burnout, Resilience, and Recovery Across Cultures - A groundbreaking work that explores clergy burnout through academic research, biblical theology, and cross-cultural analysis. With more books, devotionals, and resources currently in development, Dr. Payne is committed to producing content that empowers believers to heal deeply, live purposefully, and walk boldly in their identity in Christ. Through Opportunities To Overcome, the organization provides: - Biblical teaching and encouragement - Prayer and emotional support for those in crisis - Educational and devotional resources - Community outreach and compassionate care - Creative discipleship that teaches believers to “Create with God” as part of their healing process Dr. Payne reflects, seeks, and sits with God, using every struggle as a catalyst for transformation, believing that no story is beyond redemption when surrendered to Him. Rooted in theological scholarship, psychological insight, and lived experience, Dr. Payne continues to equip individuals and communities to rise above challenges, embrace resilience, and Glorify God through renewed purpose.

The life experiences of our founder, Dr. Barbara Payne, serve as a powerful inspiration for Opportunities To Overcome, demonstrating the transformative power of resilience and faith. Dr. Payne was once a victim of many traumas and other malicious attacks, yet she survived by The Grace of God. She believes God can use any pain from the past for His purpose, and what the enemy meant for evil, God can turn around for good. Also, there is a message in the mess. Dr. Payne confesses that she genuinely believes in the adequate power of change when God is involved. Barbara and her team, along with the broader community, will continue to work hard, recognizing that many individuals and families are grappling with trauma and economic hardship, which can make it incredibly challenging to maintain a sustainable livelihood. As a result, OTO is deeply committed to offering comprehensive support to help individuals and families overcome these obstacles and achieve stability. OTO aims to provide hope and assistance to those navigating difficult circumstances through tangible resources or spiritual guidance.
